Life is getting better

It looks like life is finally looking up. School is going great been acing my tests and helping out the other students with acid/base. I just got back from the trip to the great white north to see my sweetie. Five days together was not enough, long distance relationships are the hardest type to be in. But if anyone can make it work it will be us. I am the luckiest guy in the world to be able to have someone as sweet as her in my life. She is coming here to visit in a few weeks and I cannot wait to show her the state I call home.
The E.D has been insanely busy over the last few weeks, the flu is hitting the are hard. In the small ER I do shifts at we saw 27 people in twelve hours with flu like symptoms and four of them had pneumonia on top of the flu.
Well its time to get back to the books we got pharmacology coming up this week and Then we got IV weekend where we get to play pin cushion for each other. This will be interesting to say the least.
Be safe and take care,
RT Mark

Happy New Year

Hi All this looks like it is going to be a good new year. big changes in my personal life :)
I recently interview for a PICU position at John Hopkins Children's Hospital it was a mind blowing experience. It took four hours long with three different people. They had from sixteen different clinical questions they picked from including Heliox and Nitric oxide as well as a question on the alveolar air equation. I loved the tour of the place and seeing the PICU. I will keep you posted on that.
This weekend we had a pediatric cardiac arrest come in to the little ED I work in, one of the nurses took it bad because it was her first. It looked like the arrest was secondary to seizure induced aspiration of food. we worked the little guy for close to an hour before we called it.
It was a crappy way to end a really busy Christmas weekend. Till next time be safe.

Hello World

Hi I am a Emergency Dept. RT and Paramedic. I love the Field of Emergency Medicine. I am a horrible writer and a bad poet but I try my butt off to make people laugh. I ended my old blog and now I am opening a new chapter in my life and I am starting a new. Sit back buckle up and I hope you enjoy the ride.
Lets see what type of trouble we can get in too.
